Setters Notes

Gday all.
The October 12 hour Spring Rogaine will be held on the “DamBusters” map that Ian Thomsett and I set back in May 2014 south of Collie.
The HH site we used then which I must say was a beauty has now moved a couple of kilometres south onto Yabberup road and will be in a paddock with sweeping views across farmland full of bloody emus and Thylacines surrounded by old farm buildings. Guarantee u will love it.
At “DamBusters” we had 2 fantastic vetters but unfortunately this time all I could get was Vicki Redden and Craig Dermer so I do apologise BUT they do buy just the best red wine and another plus is Craig’s map making skills and Vicki is a bit of a looker so in the end it turned out rather well.
We have chopped off about 3 kms across the top of the map and have gone south another 4 kms so have been able to add a lot more bush and and a lot less plantations which should stop all the sooking from 2014.
The bush now occupies about 80% of the map and I can honestly say is quite open with just one small area of thick stuff and we have found some great control sites for which you can lavish heaps of praise after the event.
Farmland of about 10% and the other 15% is plantations and if you think my maths is rubbish well you are so correct.
There still will be great dam views plus the temptation of a swim to pick up big points and of course the wildflowers should still be hanging around and also there’s a million bloody kangaroos so all you tree huggers and Greenpeace members will get a real kick out of this event.
Please make the effort to head down south for our rogaine as I reckon this is the best one I have ever set. It really is a beaut area and there will be plenty of controls close to HH.
