Cliffhanger 6 Hour Paddlegaine 23 March 2024
Cliffhanger is the first WARA event for 2024 - Saturday 23 March. Setters are busy looking for control positions that can be accessed by foot or paddle. Expect to get wet if you want to clear this river based course.
Like last year's Sunrise Surprise course there will be no planning time, with maps distributed once the clock starts. Competitors will need to pay close attention to the control description, as there will be no orange and white markers at controls (just the beeper). Compasses might help, but are not critical.
Drive time from Perth is under 30mins, all on tarmac. Rego from 630, event starting at 7, with BBQ planned at the finish from 1300.
Bring your own kayak, trailing rudder recommended to avoid shallow water hazards. Double plastic sit on top kayaks can be hired from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for the day. Teams choosing to paddle must be able to swim 25m unaided. PFDs and footwear are compulsory whilst on the water.
Setters - Joel and Antoinette
Note - Paddling is optional as the majority of controls will be accessible by foot.
Entries are now open. Closing date will be midnight on the Sunday before the event, 17th March.
