postheadericon Manyuering Spring Rogaine - 16/17 August 2008

– not to be confused with up the proverbial … creek

This event was originally planned to be held in the Dumbleyung area, but as Karen, Greg’s wife, being a Dumbleyung girl, could (and probably did) tell him,
there’s not a lot of relief around Dumbleyung. So it was back to country a bit lumpier, east of Mundaring and south of the Great Southern Highway.

Absolutely typical WA rogaining country, some farm land but mostly open bush with areas of Dryandra sessilis. Discerning rogainers will know its common
name. Don’t be put off by this though, as the course also has spectacular breakaway country, swamps and flowing waterways (for the occasional
swimmers amongst us), long flat tracks for the runners and impressive rocky outcrops with breath-taking views.

The site will be a picture of flowers and splendour in August as we shake off the last of the winter blues and take in a generous feeling of serenity… The
hash site is a short distance from Midland and is nestled in an open paddock surrounded by bush with easy access. What more could you possibly need? Of
course we could always move it at the last minute, such is the prerogative and probable outcome of a committee of four + Denis.

Come and join Patrick (the doer), Warren (the rock), Bryan (the tough bast..d) and Greg (the sloth)… hopefully Denis (the wise) at the home of the McColl’s
“York Free Range Eggs” for the Manyuering Spring Rogaine.
