George in the Jungle Rogaine - 21 and 22 August 2010
Are you tired of climbing through fences and being zapped by the live wires? Bored with walking over paddock after paddock? Would you like a bit of variety? Some navigational Challenges? Some Jarrah woodland?
Then do we have the event for you. Nestled in the gently rolling hills south of Dwellingup is a small patch of bus (yes, you read right, it is all bush, not a single fence! that is ideal rogaining country. Even the hash site is in the bush. There will be a whole pile of nice easy-to-get-to controls not too far from hash for those who like to take a gentle stroll through the bush. But to add a bit of spice for those more adventurous, the outer limits of the map have a few more contours, and you'll have to work hard to find some of the controls.
Wildlife abounds - see the flocks of red-tailed black cockatoos, startle the odd wallaby, kangaroo or emu (with eggs). Don't worry - we will make sure that all the snakes are fast asleep - it is winter, after all.
So come and join us in what is looking like a very pleasant walk in the bush. We have made sure there are plenty of tracks for easy walking too. When you get tired of walking, we will provide the usual roaring hash house fire and delicious food from the hash house starts to keep you comfortable. So, what are you waiting for? Enter with your mates, family, other half (dangerous?) or the excellent navigator you met last time to make sure you find every checkpoint you are after this time, and join us for a great weekend not too far south.
We'll put in an order for some sunshine and a clear moonlit shy, you bring a compass and a sense of adventure to the George in the Jungle rogaine.
