postheadericon 2001 - A Rogaining Odyssey - 7 April 2001

Located in a Moon crater close to Perth, this forest event will be held among specially imported jarrah and wandoo (with a liberal dose of parrot bush to make you feel more at home). Despite the difficulties of traversing the mountains and crates of the lunar landscape, it is expected that the winning team will, with the assistance of a reduced gravitational pull, cover a vast distance.

Of particular interest on the map is the Tycho Crater, although it should be noted that a very strong magnetic anomaly exists in the area, rendering useless all magnetic navigational devices.

Also worth visiting is Control AE 35. Unfortunately, this unit (like many others) is subject to frequent malfunctions. If you are unable to locate AE 35 (or any other) it has either spontaneously relocated or been removed for repairs.

The Clavius Base Administration Team will we assisted by the HAL 9000 series computer. The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 series has ever made a mistake or distorted the information, and is foolproof and incapable of error. HAL's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Hash House will be offering a gourmet selection created from their chemical processing systems and algae culture. Don't be too concerned about the green scum circulating through yards of transparent plastic tubes; the Hash House biochemists can convert it into cheesies and pink slice only an expert could distinguish from the real thing.

See you up there!

Gary Moon-Watcher, Ian Floyd, Warren Bowman and Di Poole
