Come and join us for a weekend of bush walking, navigation and camping. And don't forget a full buffet dinner, breakfast, lunch and enormous camp fire!

Deep in the forested country south of Perth lies a place where the trees whisper, the tracks twist, and the map becomes your best friend — or your worst enemy. Welcome to Woody Woop Woop, the rogaine that celebrates everything we love about going bush: big gums, quiet valleys, hidden gullies, and that unmistakable “are we still on the right spur?” feeling.

This year’s course winds through classic woody terrain — tall forest, sandy pads, granite outcrops, and enough contour detail to keep even the sharpest navigators on their toes. Whether you’re a seasoned rogaine tragic or a first‑timer looking for an adventure, Woody Woop Woop delivers the perfect mix of challenge, scenery, and good old‑fashioned WA bush magic.

And yes…

One of the controls really is called Woop Woop.

Find it, and you’ll earn bragging rights for the rest of the season.

This event caters for all - from families with kids (note - children under 10 have FREE entry, 10-17 are half price), to retirees, to enthusiasts and highly trained runners.

Woody Woop Woop
24 hour State Championships - 25th to the 26th of July 2026
Welcome to Woody Woop Woop…
This winter, WARA is heading somewhere a little bit wild, a little bit mysterious, and just far enough off the beaten track.

Tucked away in the hills near Balingup, this rogaine is set in natural jarrah, marri and yarri bushland, with a rolling landscape of forest tracks, steep little surprises, well-defined creek lines, and enough navigational mischief to keep everyone honest. Expect classic south-west country: ridges, gullies, tidy open forest, big old grasstrees, and the occasional view that makes the climb feel almost worthwhile.

The site is is close enough to Balingup for a bakery stop, but far enough into the bush that “Are we nearly there?” may become part of the adventure. One of the controls really is named Woop Woop. Find it, and you’ll earn bragging rights for the rest of the season!

The course set with serious competitors in mind. Those chasing a big score will need to choose the most lucrative route carefully — and then fly if they want to finish it. It will also be a family-friendly event, with close controls near the Hash House and a lolly course for the younger rogainers.

A local farmer has generously provided a fantastic bush site for the weekend, All going well we will have a rip-roaring winter bonfire to bring everyone together at the end of the day.

The campsite will be available from Friday. It is not suited to caravans and there will be many more camping options for those with a 4WD or AWD.

Woody Woop Woop: not quite nowhere, but you’ll need a map to be sure.
