……Ahhh... the Serenity!......*

If you've been dreaming of a spring adventure in the WA bush, it's time to stop and enter the Bonnie Doon 12-Hour Rogaine on Saturday 19 September.

Only 75 minutes north of Perth, set amongst the beautiful bushland near Bindoon, this event celebrates everything we love about rogaining – wide open spaces, good mates, challenging navigation and, above all ... the serenity.

The course winds through picturesque country where you may be lucky enough to spot the elusive chuditch, colourful native orchids, echidna, majestic Carnaby's Black-Cockatoos, and ancient zamia palms.

Planning your route? Every team has one person who says, "Let's just go for the extra 100-pointer” ……he's the ideas man. Whether it's a stroke of genius or a spectacular detour, you'll have a great story to tell afterwards. Every control offers a reason to pause and appreciate the landscape before deciding ….What do ya call this, darl? —a gully, a spur, or perhaps an excuse to rest weary legs!

Thinking you’ll get through the whole course in shorts and a singlet? Tell 'im he's dreamin'! There are some serious sections of parrot bush, so remember the gaiters and long sleeves. They'll make the day far more enjoyable.

And yes... it's spring, so there may be the occasional snake enjoying the serenity too. The plan is simple: if you see one, admire it from a respectful distance and let it continue on its way. After all, it's actually their Castle!

When you punch that final control or nail a particularly clever route choice, you'll be thinking, this one's going straight to the pool room!

Camping is available on private property alongside the Hash House in state forest, making for a relaxed weekend with fellow Rogainers. No fires except for the one in your belly! so pack your warm gear.

And of course, no trip through Bindoon would be complete without a stop at the legendary Bindoon Bakehaus. Whether it's a pre-event pie, a post-event vanilla slice or a well-earned coffee, it's the perfect way to fuel your adventure.

Whether you're chasing a podium finish or simply enjoying a day out with friends, the Bonnie Doon 12-Hour Rogaine has something special. You could explain it with contour lines, checkpoints and route choices... but it's the vibe of it... it's just the vibe.

So gather your team, polish the compass, pack your gaiters and your sense of humour, and join us on 19 September. Because at Bonnie Doon... it's not just about the controls—it's about the serenity.

*For those of you who are finding the references confusing, we reference the iconic 1997 Australian movie The Castle.
