6 Hour "We’re Not Getting Any Yunga" Rogaine - 2 May 2026
Details
With the effects of all that Easter chocolate behind us and (fingers crossed) the last of the high‑30‑degree days, it’s time to sign up for a 6‑hour walk in the Perth Hills at beautiful Walyunga, less than an hour from Perth. Thanks to the recent cyclone, green grass awaits, and the course has been set to suit everyone — from families and first‑time rogainers to those keen to push their limits with steeper, more challenging terrain.
You don’t have to walk the full 6 hours; feel free to bring a picnic and simply enjoy one of our prettiest local parks. For newer rogainers, there are plenty of walk trails to help you rack up steps or assist with relocating if needed. We’ve even found a bit of water on the course, so naturally a few controls have been sneakily placed for our “frenemies.”
There’s something special planned for the Super and Ultra Veterans, while Juniors, Open competitors, and the not‑quite‑so‑old Veterans will need to rely on their usual eyesight (or seeing aids). After all, there has to be some benefit to setting a rogaine.
Maps will be available from 8am on Saturday 2 May, with a 10am start and a 4pm finish. A BBQ and drinks will be available at the finish, and for those wanting to make a weekend of it, the nearby Walyunga Campground is close by. The event location will be confirmed as usual on the Monday before the event.
Joel Tate and Grant Pepper are setting this first event of the year, with entries now open. The setters, admin, and transport crew are all looking forward to seeing your smiling faces on the start line.
