State Championships Cadet Championship **

 

Barna Mia Bushwalk’ State Championships 24 Hour and Cadet Championships 6 Hour - 9th to the 10th of August 2025

The State 24 HR Rogaine Championships will be held approximately 2 hours SE of Perth in beautiful wandoo country.

This Rogaine is also the WA Cadet Championships.  Open to all cadet teams, this is a 6 hour event, run as an event within an event.  This allows cadet teams to return to the hash house at 6 pm to finish the cadet championships, then return to the course to continue competing in the State Championships.  So enter and do your unit proud.  Entry into the Cadet Championships includes entry into the State Championships so cadet teams should only use the Cadet Championships Entry link below.

The setting and vetting team consist of Geoff Hearne, Bryan McClintock, Mick Lozyk and the Legend.

The event will be all bush and no farmland.  As it is the  State Championships all high pointers will be a challenge to find; but if your navigation is good you'll do well.  There is even an opportunity for the more experienced teams to clean up the course - but it won't be easy!  The bushland is quite open and there are plenty of controls near the Hash House so families and social teams will also have a great time. 

Setting has already started and we will definitely be trying to give you all a memorable event.

EVENT DIRECTIONS will be available on the Monday before the event via the link in your original event registration confirmation email.

Location

2 Hours South East of Perth

Event schedule

  • Event duration is 24 hours from 12:00 noon on Saturday the 9th of August to 12:00 noon on Sunday the 10th of August.
  • Friday afternoon/evening before - most entrants arrive and camp for the night. Preregistration will be available from 6:00pm.
  • 8:00am Saturday - event maps become available, and you have an opportunity to plan your course and outing prior to the start.
  • 10:30am Saturday (approx.) - a novice clinic is held for all those interested in getting an introduction to Rogaining and navigation.
  • 11:45am Saturday - pre-event briefing at the start
  • 12:00 noon Saturday - event start - you are free to head out into the field and start scoring points by locating controls.
  • 5:00pm Saturday - the Hash House opens, and you are free to come and go and eat as you please.
  • 6:00pm WA Cadet Championships close.
  • 12:00 noon Sunday- State Championship event finish - any team arriving after this time gets penalised 10 points per minute.
  • 12:30pm Sunday - event close - teams arriving after this time are disqualified.
  • 1:00pm Sunday - results are read out and trophies and badges awarded.
  • 1:00pm Sunday - the Hash House closes.

Entry

  • Adult $70, Junior (under 18) $35, Child (under 10) Free
  • Late Fees - Adult $90, Junior (under 18) $55, Child (under 10) Free, apply from 00:00:01 Thursday 31 July (10 days before the event date).
  • Non-participants pay the same fee as participants (our costs are mainly food, facilities and transport).
  • Entries close the Sunday 23:59:59 03 August.
  • Between 2 and 5 people per team.
  • No refund for cancellations after close of entries.

Transport and Directions

  • Final Instructions will be emailed to you in the week leading up to the event.

Registration

  • Registration is now open. Registrations will close on the 3rd of August - Late fees apply from 30th of July.

Accommodation and Facilities

  • We will provide a large open area for camping (or a caravan) for Friday and Saturday nights, a Hash House, a campfire and toilets. Bring your own drinking water.
  • The Hash House provides tasty meals, food and beverages which are included in your event fees and operates from 5:00pm Saturday until just after the event closes about 1:00pm Sunday.

  • Compass Hire (per person) is $5.00
  • Team changes and additions (you can remove and add team members, as long as you stay within min 2 and max 5 people per team) at rego desk, bring cash for additional entry payments.
